A 2-day virtual training course for teachers, teacher trainees, teaching assistants and community musicians who work in primary schools.
MOVING TOWARDS MUSIC LEADERSHIP 2023
This is an intensive 2-day virtual training course for teachers, teacher trainees, teaching assistants and community musicians who work in primary schools. Applicants would be expected to have some musical skill and demonstrate an interest in becoming a music subject leader or undertaking a refresh of the role.
The seminars will be held on two Saturdays, to avoid clashes with work commitments, delivered as a series of videos accessed via YouTube alongside Zoom ‘meetings’ for discussion and Q &A with specialist speakers.
Seminar Dates: January 28th and February 4th
A place on this programme will incur a £95 fee, to include all materials. Feedback shows that past participants recognised the value of this intensive training as a way of expanding and embedding their specialist teaching skills, enhancing their CVs and improving chances of employment and promotion.
The seminars offer participants a wide range of resources, pedagogical approaches and opportunities to develop greater personal musicianship. Information on the latest reports and initiatives in music education, such as the refreshed National Plan for Music Education (NPME) will be explored, as well as preparation for Ofsted ‘Deep Dive’ music inspections: there is also an emphasis on developing as a reflective practitioner. Certificates are awarded on completion of the module.
